Fly reel series R.A.G. |
Special Features:
All reel frames, spools and gears are machined from massive metal stock
Special Corrosion protection for saltwater use
"Run Control System". Press the brake adjustment disk and your preadjusted brake pressure will be reduced. Release pressure on the disk and the original drag pressure is restored
Antireverse - when the fish is running and taking line from the spool, the reel handle remains stationary
Gear ratios - depending on reel size 1:2 to 1:2,7
User friendly brake disk for very fine adjustments
Reel series R.A.G. at all available sizes |
The brake system is tailored for high performance. The drag adjustment is on the same side as the handle and even in winter, wearing gloves, fine adjustments in drag pressure are possible. The drag construction, or clutch, is based on a large breaking surface. This is very important when fighting large fish. Quality control insures that, even at very high revolutions, the braking system will perform perfectly. The so called "Slip Stick Effect" is reduced to a minimum. This is necessary when fighting large fish and also reduces wear on the brake system. |
Internal view of the R.A.G. series |
A special future of the R.A.G. reel series is the "Run Control-System". Pressing on the drag adjustment will will reduce the preset drag pressure. This may be performed in degrees, all the way down to zero drag! A special, intergrated feature prevents the spool from overrunning. This is a welcome feature especially right after hooking a large fish and he takes off in his first and strongest run! A great insurance against breaking your leader on a wild fish. With the smaller, lighter R.A.G. reels, for class 5/6 lines, you can fish with extremely light leader tippetsand react immediately to sudden runs and stress. The "Run Control-System" prevents the breakage of fine tippets. Of course, the reel handle must not be revolving when you readjust the brake disc. |
R.A.G. with polished finish |
The "Anti-Reverse-System" coupled with the higher retreive ratio gives you complete control while fighting a fish. When a fish suddenly turns and swims back in your direction you are able to retreive line quickly remaining in constant contact with the fish, which is not always possible with a single action, direct drive reel. |

Brake
adjustment: Grasping the reel as shown, you are able to adjust the brake system with your thumb. Clock-wise will increase the braking pressure, Counter-Clockwise will reduce the braking pressure. |

The quick release of your previous brake adjustment is achived by grasping the reel as shown and pressing inward, toward the spool with the thumb. Releasing thumb pressure, without moving the brake disk, will return the brake setting to its earlier tension. The full spectrum of brake adjustment is possible as long as no force is needed. |
